Achraf Hakimi’s participation in the Trophée des Champions on Wednesday is in doubt. Paris Saint-Germain face Toulouse FC at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday, the same day that the Morocco squad at scheduled to meet ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
According to L’Équipe, discussions between PSG and Morocco are ongoing, with the former hoping to retain Hakimi for the Trophée des Champions fixture. Whilst the Moroccan’s presence is in doubt, there is a returning face in the form of Ousmane Dembélé. The France international was rested before the winter break after feeling hamstring discomfort. He is expected to start on Wednesday night.
Fabián Ruiz and Nuno Mendes are both still absent with their respective injuries. There is uncertainty around the latter’s return date. The Portuguese full-back’s entourage told L’Équipe that Mendes is on course for a return at the end of January, but reports elsewhere suggest a more lengthy absence for the player, who has not featured since April.
