Arsenal and Chelsea are among the clubs linked with pursuing a mega-money deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe. The French striker is facing an uncertain future at the Parc des Princes as he enters the final six months of his contract.
Mbappe would be free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs in January should he decide against signing a renewal with PSG. The 25-year-old notified his current club that he would not sign a new contract in the summer — sparking speculation that he had already agreed a future move to Real Madrid.
However, Madrid have distanced themselves from links to the France international in recent weeks which opened the door for Mbappe to potentially pursue a move to the Premier League. A report from The Athletic has now stated that the feeling at PSG is that their star player could extend his stay in Paris once again — as he did back in 2022 after snubbing a move to Madrid.
Real Madrid are set to make a fresh attempt to sign Mbappe from PSG — and have given the forward a deadline to decide if he wants to join them this summer. However, sources at the French club believe the Spanish giants cannot offer the financial package Mbappe is looking for.
The La Liga side have made it clear to the 25-year-old that, if he wants to join them, he must make a decision before mid-January. The report adds that Madrid felt betrayed when Mbappe chose to renew with PSG in 2022, but despite that, contact between the two parties has never completely disappeared.
