Lee Carsley has impressed during his time as England Under-21 manager
The FAI’s search for a new Republic of Ireland manager could be dealt a blow with England Under-21 boss Lee Carsley now in the running to take the reins at Birmingham City.
Former Republic international Carsley is believed to be a frontrunner to replace Stephen Kenny but the 49-year-old is now among the candidates for the Birmingham job following Wayne Rooney’s sacking on Tuesday.
