Sam Allardyce has backed Jarrod Bowen to succeed should he transfer to Liverpool - days after Jurgen Klopp called the 27-year-old his 'favourite' footballer not already a part of his own squad.
Despite crashing out of the Carabao Cup at the hands of Liverpool on Wednesday, Bowen gave the travelling West Ham supporters some reprieve with a consolation goal in front of the new Anfield Road stand. It was his second goal of the season against Liverpool having netted in the Reds' 3-1 Premier League home win back in September, and caused Klopp to make some extremely complimentary remarks.

All of this considered, Allardyce was asked: "Is Jarrod Bowen the closest player to Mo Salah in terms of position and style? Is he someone Liverpool should be looking at soon?
