Steven Gerrard has sent an honest message to former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson.
Henderson ended a 12-year career at Anfield last summer when he left the Reds to sign for Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia. The 33-year-old left Liverpool to link up with Gerrard, who is the manager of the Saudi Pro League club.
However, Henderson would go on to make just 19 appearances for Al-Ettifaq following his £12 million exit from Liverpool. The England international left the Saudi Arabian club to join Ajax during the January transfer window, where he has since featured nine times.
Gerrard is still manager of Al-Ettifaq, but his managerial job allows him to have a break this week which has given him the opportunity to return to Merseyside. The former Reds captain starred for Liverpool Legends against Ajax at Anfield on Saturday, where he was alongside several former teammates including Fernando Torres.

Gerrard responded by revealing that he recently had a conversation with Henderson, and sent his best wishes to his compatriot.
"We miss him [Henderson]," said Gerrard. "We miss him, great guy [and] a great player. But I'm glad he's happy. I spoke to him a couple of weeks ago on the phone, he's all good. he's happy and settled. And he's looking forward to the end of the season."
