Ângelo Gabriel is expected to start when RC Strasbourg Alsace take on Stade Brestois on Saturday, however, fellow Chelsea loanee Andrey Santos may have to wait to make his first start for Les Alsaciens.
Santos made his debut for Strasbourg during last weekend’s defeat against FC Lorient, coming on for the last 10 minutes after returning from international duty with Brazil. Having spent a full week with his new teammates, he is now ready to start, however, according to L’Équipe, it is more likely that he will begin the encounter from the bench.
As well as the long-term injury to Lebo Mothiba, Patrick Vieira must now also contend with the suspensions of Thomas Delaine and Dilane Bakwa. Both are regular starters but will miss the game against Brest as they look to halt a three-game losing streak in Ligue 1.
