Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola believes the three-strike rule for manager yellow cards is "too harsh" as he prepares for a touchline ban in Boxing Day's clash with Fulham.
The Spaniard picked up his third booking of the season in Saturday's 3-2 win at Nottingham Forest for waving an imaginary yellow card after Willy Boly's challenge on Adam Smith.
It means he will now have to watch his side's game with Fulham from the directors' box and will not be able to communicate with his players.
He said: "It's frustrating for me, it is too harsh to lose a game with just three yellows and they are not big complaints. You just ask something.
"The consequences are very deep. It is difficult to accept for me but I think Tommy (Elphick) and Shaun (Cooper) will be there, doing their job and we will be in touch.
"It is going to be tough. I will have to decide how to do it. I won't be able to complain and correct live things, maybe it is better and you can see the game and you can think better - I don't think it will happen.
"This is something that I cannot change."
Iraola hopes to have Smith available for the Vitality Stadium clash after the full-back suffered a head injury in the dying stages of the City Ground clash, which the Cherries won 3-2 thanks to Dominic Solanke's hat-trick goal in the fifth minute of time added on.
Iraola added: "We didn't know what to do because we had an option, I asked the doctor if it is a concussion.
"He was better than I thought and I hope it is nothing serious and he can play. He is our only full-back right now so we need him.
"We will see if we can recover someone else, it is going to be tough.
