Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi declared Kylian Mbappé (25) to be “The best player in the world” following the Parisians 2-1 victory (Aggregate 4-1) over La Liga outfit Real Sociedad on Tuesday night.
Frenchman Mbappé grabbed both goals in a convincing win which sees Luis Enrique’s side qualify for the Champions League quarter finals for the third time in five seasons, prompting President Al-Khelaifi’s eulogy of him:
It is widely expected that Mbappé will join Real Madrid upon the expiration of his PSG contract this summer. Indeed, Spanish coach Luis Enrique admitted as much in his post-match interview.
Mbappé will hope to depart on a high note, and with PSG on course for a treble, nine points clear of OGC Nice in Ligue 1 and set for a Coupe de France quarter final with the same opponents, the stage is set for France’s superstar to sign off in style.
