The African Cup of Nations is nearly upon us and like the rest of the Premier League,Tottenham Hotspur will be impacted by the mid-season tournament in 2024.
Starting on January 13, the tournament in the Ivory Coast will run until February 11. As well as the crowning of African champions, the Asian Cup will also take place in Qatar.
Heading into the new year, squads have already been announced, with the remaining teams having until January 3 to name their 27-man squads. Unfortunately for Spurs, captain and star player Son Heung-min will be unavailable.
The forward has been named in the South Korea squad and depending on how far they go, Ange Postecoglou could be without the 31-year-old until the middle of February.
Pape Matar Sarr has already been called-up to Senegal's squad as they look to retain the African Cup of Nations title. The midfielder will look to continue his fine form in England for his nation and join the likes of Sadio Mane and Nicolas Jackson in victory next month.
Mali's squad has not been announced yet but Yves Bissouma is set to be named by Eric Chelle. Bissouma, like Sarr, has been pivotal for Spurs this season and will be a huge miss.
