"There was an important offer" - Theo Hernandez could return to Atletico Madrid
Theo Hernandez was formed in the 'Colchoneros' youth academy, although he never made his debut with the Atletico Madrid first team. In 2017, he left for Real Madrid and, after a brief spell at Real Sociedad, he made the leap to AC Milan, where he has been since 2019.
According to journalist Monica Colombo, the defender could return to Simeone's side. "Last year, Theo was close to Atletico Madrid. The Spanish side were the ones who proposed the biggest offer for the player," she told 'Calciomercato'.
"I think that Milan CEO Furlani is sincere when he says that he can't assure anyone that all the big names will stay. Faced with an important offer, the board will sit around a table and listen. I can't assure you that Theo and Maignan will stay," he added.
'Sky Sport' already speculated at the time about Atletico's interest in Theo Hernandez's return, although his possible return would not go down well with the 'Colchoneros' fans.
