Arsenal returned to winning ways on Tuesday night as they secured a 2-1 victory over La Liga side Sevilla in the third matchday of the UEFA Champions League group stage. Gabriel Martinelli broke the deadlock on the brink of half-time, providing a composed finish after some excellent link-up play from Gabriel Jesus on the counter-attack.
Jesus then doubled his side's lead after the break, curling in a sublime finish from an improbable angle on the left. But Sevilla fought back, with Nemanja Gudelj heading it past David Raya from a corner.
Eventually, the Gunners held on, securing all three points, although there were a couple of injury concerns on the night. Holding midfielder Thomas Partey was left out of the matchday squad after picking up a muscle problem in training on Monday whilst striker Gabriel Jesus limped off the pitch in the second half appearing to hold his hamstring.
So, with that being said, football.london has taken a look at the latest news to come out of the treatment room at London Colney.
Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus was excellent on the night, netting a goal and providing an assist but there was an injury worry when the Brazilian international pulled up appearing to hold his hamstring late on in the game. Eventually, he limped off for Eddie Nketiah with ten minutes remaining on the night.
It remains to be seen how serious the issue was.
