Sheffield United have been put to the sword by Brighton but Tom Davies' new haircut has arguably been more of a shock.
The midfielder came on in the 79th minute at Bramall Lane with a vastly different trim to his familiar curly blond locks.
Davies made his way onto the field with a striking mohawk, something that was jokingly labelled worse than Sheffield United teammate Mason Holgate's terrible challenge on Kaoru Mitoma, a tackle which earnt the defender a straight red.
One fan said: «Has Tom Davies lost a bet?»
Another said: «Good God Tom Davies… what a barnet.»
This fan added «I hope Tom Davies has done that for at least a tenner…»
While another said: «I don’t know what’s worse, the tackle on Mitoma or Tom Davies' haircut.»
It was a miserable day for Chris Wilder's side as they succumbed to a 5-0 defeat against the Seagulls.
Goals from Facundo Buonanotte and Danny Welbeck in five first-half minutes puts the away side in charge.
The first half also saw Holgate dismissed for a high challenge on Brighton forward Mitoma.
Mitoma was fit to carry on as Brighton made it a rout in the second half with an own goal by Jack Robinson and a double from Simon Adingra making it a 5-0 thumping.
The result leaves Sheffield United bottom of the Premier League on 13 points, while Brighton leapfrog Newcastle into seventh.
