Manchester United have emerged top of an unwanted list of clubs that have incurred the most losses from transfers over the last decade.
United have developed a reputation of the heavy spenders of the Premier League, but that has not always been converted to success.
Since 2014, the Red Devils have been found to have spent a staggering £1.67bn on new players. This is in comparison to making just £481m in player sales.
With this in mind, United have ended up with a net spend of £1.19bn, which is more than any other club, according to Swiss-based research institute, CIES Football Observatory.

FootballUsing the same criteria, Chelsea are second in the list, as they have a negative net spend of a negative net spend of £883m.
Since the infamous Todd Boehly takeover, the Blues have been the most willing to splurge money on so-called big signings over the past two summers.
According toFootball London, Boehly’s overall spending has hit the $1.2bn after yet another ambitious summer buying spree which saw the Blues acquire players like Axel Disasi, Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia and Nicolas Jackson.
Paris Saint Germain (£865.8m), Arsenal(£746.9m) and Manchester City(£733.8m) wrap up the top five.
