Tottenham flop Davinson Sanchez 'in advanced talks' to join Spartak Moscow
Davinson Sanchez is reportedly close to agreeing a deal to join Spartak Moscow from Tottenham.
According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, Spurs have accepted a £10.4million bid from the Russian club, with the player currently negotiating personal terms.
Mauricio Pochettino brought the Colombia international to Spurs from Ajax for £42m in 2017, breaking the club's transfer record in the process.
However, the 27-year-old has struggled to live up to weight of his fee across six seasons in North London, and has only made more than 30 Premier League appearances in a single season once, during his debut campaign.
In Antonio Conte's first full season in charge Sanchez looked to have earned a place in the Italian's plans at the club, starting three of the Spurs' first five Premier League games.
However, Sanchez's run in the team would ultimately prove to be short lived as he went to make just five further Premier League starts as the club failed to secure European football for the first time since 2010.
The nadir of Sanchez's entire spell at the club would come during the defeat to Bournemouth in April.
Replacing an injured Clement Lenglet in the first-half, every touch of the ball from Sanchez would be met with a hostile reaction from the home fans.
Sanchez was mercifully replaced by then-boss Christian Stellini in the second half, with Hugo Lloris later defending his teammate and calling the situation sad.
'I've never seen this in my career.' Lloris told beIN Sports in April.
'I feel really bad for Davinson. He's a team-mate, he's a friend and he's been fighting for the club for many many years now, and it's just sad.
'The story is sad for the club, for the fans, for the player. It's something you don't want to see in football.'
