Tottenham could be set to move on a few players this summer transfer window, with the Chelsea owners potentially playing a huge part in letting Davinson Sanchez leave the club.
Fans got a first glimpse of how life may be like under the tutelage of the Australian coach as they faced West Ham Perth on Tuesday. While the game ended in defeat, there were plenty of positives to take from the match such as the sheer amount of shots created and the slickness of passing.
"From my perspective, that's what we were looking for tonight," Postecoglou said in review of the match. "We've obviously been working really hard in training and I didn't expect the lads to be super sharp because this is the stage where you're getting your conditioning but we have been working on stuff.
"We want to see some of that out there and I think in both halves there was a real willingness from the boys to try to put in place the stuff we've been working on. At times it looked good but we're still very much in the infancy of trying to establish the way we want to play and our structures. For me, the key thing is are they trying out there to implement it and for the most part it was really good."
While pre-season ramps up, so too does the transfer market as every side likes to shape their ideal squad and Tottenham are no different. One area they are looking to improve is in the defence, with a host of players linked at centre-back, with one or two outgoings possible too.
A player that has been linked with an exit is Sanchez, who has struggled to reach the heights in recent seasons and was even on the receiving end of boos from the Spurs fans last season. A move may be facilitated this summer and it could come from an unlikely source in Chelsea's owners.
