Tottenhamn Hotspur could have possible advantage in transfer battle for Brentford striker Ivan Toney
Tottenham Hotspur have been given a potential boost in their reported plans to target Brentford striker Ivan Toney.
The Bees forward scored 20 Premier League goals for Thomas Frank’s side last season, improving on his previous tally of 12, and made his England debut. Toney is currently serving a ban for breaching the FA’s betting regulations but could potentially make his return against Spurs (January 30) when his suspension is lifted on January 16.
The Times has reported that Brentford are prepared for interest in the striker and have placed an £80million price tag on their star forward, with Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea being listed as potential suitors. While Toney is currently unavailable for selection, the 27-year-old has hinted that he may be on the move in the near future by signing with a new agent.
The former Newcastle United man has joined CAA Stellar Sports, who count Manchester City forward Jack Grealish and Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga among their clients. From a Spurs perspective, CAA Stellar represent Ben Davies and Fraser Forster. The agency also helped negotiate summer moves for Harry Winks and Joe Rodon to Leicester City and Leeds United, respectively.
CAA Stellar formed as part of a merger between the CAA agency and ICM Stellar Sports last year. Part of the same company, a separate agency called CAA Base Sports also represents some of the club’s star names.
Captain Son Heung-min, manager Ange Postecoglou, striker Richarlison plus new signings James Maddison and Pedro Porro are all represented by CAA Base. The agency also represents Tottenham loanees Djed Spence, Alfie Devine and Dane Scarlett, according to
