Tottenham defender Cristian Romero was withdrawn at half time of the Premier League clash against Everton with a potential injury. The Argentina international has already missed a lengthy spell this season after being sent off in the clash against Chelsea which resulted in a three-match ban.
Centre-back partner Micky van de Ven picked up a significant hamstring injury in that game with James Maddison also suffering an ankle issue. The Lilywhites suffered with the absence of that key trio with four defeats in the following five games however Postecoglou has been able to guide Spurs to back-to-back wins over Newcastle and Nottingham Forest.
With the Netherlands international out, Ben Davies has been excellent alongside Romero and he may have to continue that level of form with Romero possibly suffering a new injury. Spurs had stormed into a two-goal lead against Everton but were hit with a major worry as Romero was subbed off for Eric Dier at half time.
Romero has since been spotted out on the bench with ice on his hamstring, leading to major panic among Tottenham supporters. With Dier on, the current back four is the same as the one deployed against Wolves when Destiny Udogie was suspended with the Italy international also missing this clash because of an accumulation of yellow cards.
Yves Bissouma is another marquee absentee following his second red card of the season picked up against Nottingham Forest. Injuries have plagued Spurs this season and while that is mostly out of their control, the disciplinary record certainly is not, but Postecoglou does not believer there is an issue.
