Arsenal return to Premier League action on Saturday as they host Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners have slipped to fourth place in the table following three games without a win, but have now not played in the league since December 31. Mikel Arteta’s side had been pushing hard in the title race before their recent downturn in form and they now sit five points behind league leaders Liverpool.

They face a Palace side whose form has also dipped in recent weeks and are now down to 14th in the table. Defeat for Roy Hodgson’s side would pile the pressure on the former England boss, with his talented squad having gone eight matches without a win before their victory at Brentford last time out in the league.

Both managers are also missing some key players this month, with Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohamed Elneny out for Arsenal at the Asian Cup and Africa Cup of Nations, respectively. For Palace, Jordan Ayew is also away with his national side, Ghana, while Rob Holding is set to miss this match against his former side due to injury.
