Crystal Palace cancel press conference after Roy Hodgson taken ill in training
Crystal Palace have cancelled Roy Hodgson's pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday's clash with Everton after the 76-year-old was taken ill during this morning's training session.
In a tweet on Thursday, Palace said: «Unfortunately, today’s press conference will no longer take place as scheduled as Roy Hodgson was taken ill during this morning’s training session.»
It remains to be seen whether Hodgson will be in charge before Monday's trip to Merseyside to take on Everton (8pm). The former England boss was installed as Patrick Vieira's replacement last season and earned a contract following a positive run of results but Palace have slipped into relegation danger recently.
Chelsea ran out 3-1 winners during Monday night's encounter after Mauricio Pochettino's side had to come from behind to earn an important win. Jefferson Lerma opened the scoring, with his first goal for the club, but former Palace loanee Conor Gallagher inspired the turnaround with two second-half goals with Enzo Fernandez rounding off the scoring.

Reports suggest that the Hodgson is set to be relieved of his duties as manager at Selhurst Park with former Eintracht Frankfurt manager Oliver Glasner said to be lined up as his replacement. Glasner has been away from the dugout since leaving Frankfurt in June.
