Harvey Elliott is convinced Darwin Nunez is ready to take the next step in his Liverpool development as he outlined the change from the striker with a Carabao Cup final coming up against Chelsea.
Nunez netted his 12th goal of the season when he headed in a cross from substitute Elliott to cap a 3-1 Premier League win over Burnley last Saturday.
The Uruguayan is closing in on his tally of 15 from last term and has already had 23 goal involvements this campaign, while no player in the Premier League has had more shots on target this season or is averaging more per game.
It's not all been plain sailing for the striker, with some rough moments including breaking a Premier League record for the most times striking the woodwork in a single game with four efforts against Chelsea. Elliott believes the striker is only now beginning to realise his full potential following his move from Benfica more than 18 months ago.
«You don't really need to look up, to be honest!» said Elliott regarding his assist against Burnley. «You kind of know the areas he's going to be in and more often than not he gets on the end of it.»

«It's just all credit to him, he's an amazing player and he really helps us out in moments. He has scored some very important goals for us this season and since he's joined.»
«For us, to have him someone like him where you know where he's going to be; he doesn't complain, some games he doesn't score but he puts 110% effort in. That's all we can ask of him. He's going from step to step to step now and for him we're all very happy.»
