With Chelsea having submitted an offer this week, Montpellier striker Elye Wahi appears to be closer than ever to a Premier League move – however, another London club may be set to rival the Blues for the French striker’s signing.
Speaking to Midi Libre, club president Laurent Nicollin has indicated that the offer did not match their expectations for the 20-year-old, who scored 19 goals last season.
The regional publication add that Tottenham Hotspur are set to make an offer in the next few hours, with the former Caen man seen as a potential replacement for Harry Kane – the England striker is the subject of interest from both Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.
Reportedly, offers from other clubs, beyond the two from London, will be arriving imminently as well. In any case, the French youth international’s departure appears inevitable this summer in the wake of his breakout season with La Paillade.
