Tottenham look set to miss out on Norwegian starlet Antonio Nusa. The Club Brugge teenager has reportedly agreed to join Brentford at the end of the season.
Having been on the radar for clubs across Europe it was Spurs that made a major move towards signing him this month, football.london understands. The 18-year-old held talks with Tottenham over a move after Chelsea had made a late bid for him in the summer.
Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United have also been big admirers of the forward. However, with just three days left of the January window it is Brentford that are on the verge of completing a deal.
Fabrizio Romano reports that a package is in place for around £25million and that he will join the Bees in June. Tottenham themselves had been ready to loan Nusa back to Belgium in order to aid his development.
Nusa, who has scored three times this season in the league for Brugge as well as making his senior international debut — scoring his first goal as well — was always expected to leave either now or in the next six months. «If it doesn't happen now, it will be this summer,» Brugge boss Ronny Deila said earlier this week. «The most important thing is that he stays focused and wants to get better. I think he is handling [the speculation] well, because he is still young.
»Now, a decision has to be made and he has to do the best he can for us. I hope and think we will keep him until June. And then, he will be even more ready to leave."
