Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool side are still flying high after a dramatic win over Fulham at Anfield on Saturday, but the games are coming thick and fast.
The Reds are back in action on Wednesday night when they make the trip to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United under the lights. A win would see them either go top, or keep pressure on league leaders Arsenal depending on how the Gunners fare away at Luton the night before.
It has been an impressive start to the campaign for Klopp's men, who have lost just once in 14 games so far. With that in mind, Mirror Football has taken a look at some of the main talking points emerging out of Anfield on Tuesday, December 5.
Luis Suarez has hinted that he could retire from football following the former Liverpool star’s Gremio exit.
The ex-Anfield hero has left the Brazilian side at the end of the 2023 season having hit 24 goals and provided 17 assists in 52 games in all competitions. Now a free agent, his most recent remarks seem to suggest calling time on his career altogether could be an option.
Speaking after leaving Gremio, Suarez said: “I can feel pain, my body is speaking for me. I want to enjoy and then decide for myself after a long career. I need to rest, enjoy my family… then the destiny will know where I'll be in the future.”
Hanging up his boots would come as a surprise, given Suarez has been so heavily linked with a move to Inter Miami. A switch to the MLS side would see him reunite with former Barcelona team-mates Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets.
