With the January transfer window now in full swing, rumours around every club and every player in every league are swirling across the European continent and Chelsea are absolutely no exception to that.
The Blues are expected to land some signatures this month but aren't likely to go as big as they have done in previous windows. Having secured the likes of Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo and Christopher Nkunku over the last 12 months, there'll be a lot of excitement around who the club are set to bring in next.
One name that has been floating around since the opening of the transfer window is young German centre-back David Odogu. The star has already reportedly found interest from other English clubs like Leicester City, who look set to challenge Chelsea and manager Mauricio Pochettino for his talents.
If the deal did end up happening, it'd no doubt seem like a continuation of the youthful project Blues supporters will be used to under the reign of chairman Todd Boehly, but with many calling out for some much-needed experience in the dressing room, is another young talent truly what Chelsea need? Well, with that being said, football.london has profiled Odogu to see how much he could give the Blues if he does join this month…
Born on June 13, 2006, the 17-year-old would be joining from Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg but he's yet to actually make a senior appearance for the club, instead showing off his impressive skills in the Junior Bundesliga for the club's U-19s side. For them, he's scored once and provided two assist in just eight matches from centre-back, an impressive tally given his young age.
