Jurgen Klopp's unwavering allegiance - and elite-level taunting abilities - were on full display after he added a provocative accessory to his outfit before posing for a picture with the friend of a Manchester United-supporting fan.
The German boss revealed in his post-match interview following Liverpool's 5-2 FA Cup win over Norwich, that while on holiday, a Bolton supporter had cheekily asked for Conor Bradley to be returned to the club where he impressed on loan last season.
In recent weeks, the 20-year-old has shone while deputising for the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold. He played a starring role in the Reds' 4-1 demolition of Chelsea on Wednesday night, assisting twice either side of a wonderfully-taken goal.
Klopp revealed that he was forced to disappoint the fan and simply replied 'too late' to his request, however, that was not the end of the interaction.
The Bolton supporter was quick to respond on social media and shared how the Liverpool manager had reached for his club branded cap when alerted to the fact there was a United fan about.
'The lads who were with me was a Burnley fan and the other a United fan.' The fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter. 'My mate told him he was a United fan so he pulled this hat out his bag for the picture. Top level sh*thousery.'
Bradley enjoyed a successful campaign with Bolton last term and endeared himself to supporters by registering seven goals and six assists, which earned him the player of the season award.
He has continued that run of form back at his part club and has caught the eye with a string of quality performances for the Reds. Before the defender's Player of the Match display against the Blues, he had provided two assists in the cup win over the Canaries at the weekend.
