Kate Abdo was all class on Thursday morning as she addressed an awkward comment from Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher on live television.
Carragher caused controversy on Wednesday during the broadcast of Arsenal’s Champions League win over Porto when he appeared to jokingly question Abdo’s loyalty to her partner Malik Scott.
The comments in question came after Bukayo Saka suggested Carragher don an Arsenal shirt, with the former Liverpool defender following through with the star Gunners forward’s request.

But Carragher then went on to urge co-hosts Micah Richards and Abdo also wear the jersey, to which the latter declined on the basis of being “loyal” to Manchester United.
“I’m loyal,” Abdo said.
“To who?” Carragher asked.
“Manchester United, thank you very much,” Abdo responded.
That is when Carragher crossed the line, jokingly replying: “Not to Malik”.
Malik, in this instance, being Abdo’s partner, who is a former professional boxer and now the trainer for Deontay Wilder.
“What? Why would you even say that?” a stunned Abdo said in response.
Abdo indirectly addressed the incident while broadcasting Thursday’s Champions League fixtures and drew widespread praise for her professionalism.
“After yesterday’s road trip to the Emirates, we are back home in our Champions League studio here in London. Good to be here. I am Kate Abdo,” she opened.
