With Liverpool having beaten Brighton earlier in the day, even more pressure rested on the shoulders of the Man City and Arsenal players at the Etihad in Sunday's late kick-off. Both sides were desperate for all three points and a statement victory in their respective bids to become Premier League champions.
Man City, somewhat unsurprisingly, dominated the opening stages, with Arsenal content holding their deep defensive shape and trying to utilise their counter-attacking potential. However, it made for a a rather flat first half.
