It is believed that the playmaker lashed out a ball boy who was accused of time-wasting and preventing Pirates from taking a quick corner. While there is no clear footage of the entire incident, the ball retriever was seen laying on the ground and needed medical assistance before being walked off the sidelines.
Monare was visibly aggrieved by the referee Jelly Chavani's decision to award him a red card, as the maestro was seen in a rage of descent towards the official.
