AS Monaco manager Adi Hütter was full of praise for Russian playmaker Aleksandr Golovin (27), who registered a goal and an assist as the Principality club beat Stade Brestois (2-0) at the Stade Louis II on Sunday.
Golovin already has five goals in just 10 Ligue 1 matches. The Russian playmaker has never scored more than eight in a season, however, his manager will want him to break that record this season. “I’m hoping he’ll score more,” joked Hütter in a press conference, attended by Get French Football News.
Injury has hampered Golovin’s time at the Principality club, but last season marked a turning point and his fitness issues, for now, are a thing of the past. “Golo’ is exceptional. He really is in top form currently. We need him. He is a fantastic player and I hope that he will continue to be decisive […] I think he can do even better but I don’t want to set him any objectives. He is one of the best players in the league,” added Hütter.
