Pep Ljinders has confirmed that Alexis Mac Allister is likely to be ruled out until the New Year.
The World Cup winner has missed Liverpool’s last three matches after suffering a leg injury in the 2-0 victory away at Sheffield United, with Jurgen Klopp already confirming that the setback was worse than originally thought.
Speaking ahead of the Reds’ League Cup quarter-final against West Ham United, assistant manager Ljinders confirmed that the midfielder remains sidelined and is likely to be out for the duration of the festive period.

While Mac Allister remains sidelined, there is better news with regards to Ryan Gravenberch. The Netherlands international was forced off with a hamstring injury against Manchester United on Sunday.
However, Ljinders confirmed that his scan result came back all clear, with his issue proving to be fatigue. And while Liverpool will be careful with the 21-year-old, he is hopeful that Gravenberch could be fit to face Arsenal on Saturday, if not West Ham, with the midfielder set to return to training on Tuesday.
