Arsenal legend names the one team that would beat Man City's treble-winning team
Arsenal hero Ray Parlour has claimed that the legendary 2003/04 Invincibles side would defeat the current Manchester City team in a one-off match.
The Gunners went the entire campaign undefeated in the Premier League, a remarkable achievement, finishing on 90 points after winning 26 matches and drawing 12, Meanwhile, City won the treble last season, lifting the league, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League.
But Parlour has argued that he would back Arsene Wenger's side to overcome the Citizens in a head-to-head showdown. Speaking to Lord Ping: Red Or Black?, Parlour said: «I'd have to say (Kevin) De Bruyne would make our team.
»When he's on the ball, you know something's going to happen, just ask (Erling) Haaland! We had Dennis Bergkamp, who was similar, but you could give De Bruyne a free role in the side and great things would happen.
«Haaland would be another one, but we had Thierry Henry. Pep Guardiola would have loved (Patrick) Viera. He was so important. If not him, Sol Campbell. He'd strengthen any back four.
»It's very hard to judge how a game between them would go. I think we'd give City a game and just nick it.
