A woman has opened a refurbished bar in tribute to her husband.
Sinclair’s Bar, Cocktail Lounge and Rooms opened last weekend. The bar celebrates the rich traditions of whiskey bars and pubs in London and New York.
Located on Lord Street in Southport town centre, it was formerly the site of the Peaky Blinders bar. It was opened in 2015 as the show was becoming increasingly popular and ran by John Sinclair, who died in 2020.

Now, the venue has been fully refurbished under the stewardship of his wife Melanie. She said the bar’s new name and makeover was a "fitting tribute" to her husband.
Melanie said: “With our rebrand, we aim to pay tribute to John, whilst also embracing the timeless traditions of whiskey bars and public houses.
“The bar has undergone a full refurbishment and a new look, and we are very excited to welcome our existing and new customers to this fabulous location on Lord Street.
“We believe that Sinclair’s will not only honour John’s memory, but also provide visitors with an experience that reflects his passion for hospitality and camaraderie.”
Melanie thanked those who came to visit Sinclair’s during its launch on the busy St Patrick’s weekend. Customers can enjoy a wide selection of cask ales, draught lagers, a new cocktail and a wine menu, and a large selection of whiskey and spirits.
