Bayern Munich are preparing a third offer for Newcastle defender Kieran Trippier, talkSPORT understands.
The German giants' latest bid of £12.8million was rejected on Tuesday but Bayern are refusing to give up their pursuit of the right-back.
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is keen for England international Trippier to stay at St James Park.
But Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel wants to reunite Harry Kane and Eric Dier with their compatriot, and former Tottenham teammate.
The 33-year-old only joined the Magpies two years ago from Atletico Madrid in a £12m deal.
He has played 83 times for the club and helped them get back into the Champions League.
talkSPORT reported over the weekend that Trippier was pushing to join the German giants before the window closes next week.
Eddie Howe's side are under pressure to sell in order to raise funds for signings.
Since their Saudi Arabia takeover, the Magpies have been very careful to make sure they do not breach Financial Fair Play [FFP] rules and invite any unwanted scrutiny.
Howe will face difficulties in replenishing his injury-hit squad in January and could be forced to sell some of his key men in the summer.
Callum Wilson has been linked with clubs in Spain and Italy, while Miguel Almiron is wanted by a Saudi Pro League club.
