Thankfully the top spot for a UK road trip is within easy reach of Merseyside, as the Lake District has been crowned the UK's favourite Easter excursion. New research revealed that the National park beat off competition from Snake Pass, The Cotswolds and the Pembrokeshire Coast 200 to take the top spot.
With roads winding past dramatic hills, through thrilling passes and around beautiful lakes, it's no wonder the Lake District is a hit for a car ride. Fuel brand JET asked 2,000 drivers to name the best UK road trips, and nearly a third (28%) picked the national park in Cumbria as the best.

The most popular places to visit in the Lake District include Windermere, which features England's largest lake at 10.5 miles long. At its deepest point it is 219 feet down to the bottom. The likes of Coniston and Keswick also boast stunning lakes which can be explored on paddleboards, rowing boats and kayaks.
Home to a breathtaking valley, hundreds of walking routes and camping hotspots, Langdale Valley is perfect for those who love the outdoors. Wastwater is made up of mountains including the tough Red Pike, Kirk Fell, Great Gable and Scafell Pike.
