Borussia Dortmund give Jadon Sancho what Manchester United couldn't after Cristiano Ronaldo decision
Borussia Dortmund have handed Jadon Sancho the lucrative No.10 shirt upon the Manchester United man's return to the club.
On Thursday, the Bundesliga giants announced they had signed Sancho until the end of the season after a nightmare period at Old Trafford. The 23-year-old never truly settled back in the North West and his issues came to a head at the beginning of September.
Following the defeat to Arsenal, Erik ten Hag was asked why Sancho was not in the squad that day. The Dutch boss responded by claiming the forward's performances in training had been below par and this led to his exclusion.

Taking issue with the United manager, Sancho posted on social media how he felt he had been made a 'scapegoat' at the club. The post was subsequently deleted but the damage was already done after the winger failed to apologise to his boss.
Unsurprisingly, a deal back to Dortmund has been confirmed and faith has been put in Sancho to bear the weight of the No.10 shirt. Such responsibility was not given to the Englishman when he first arrived at the Theatre of Dreams.
During his stint in the Dortmund first team, Sancho had earned the No.7 jersey thanks to his standout performances. However, his arrival at United came a month prior to Cristiano Ronaldo's signing.
Therefore, Sancho was asked to pick another number, 25, to be his. The possible significance of this choice could be because the numbers two and five add up to seven, but all other major options were off the table.
