Brentford are in talks over a move for Tottenham left-back Sergio Reguilon.
Manager Thomas Frank has been looking at a number of options and Reguilon, 27, is available after his loan with Manchester United was cut short earlier this month.
The Spaniard was initially signed as cover for injured left-back Luke Shaw during the summer transfer window.
Reguilon made just seven starts in all competitions for Erik ten Hag's side, with the last of these coming during the dire 3-0 home defeat by Bournemouth in December.
Brentford have looked at Marseille's Renan Lodi, who is joining Al Hilal, and Leicester City's Luke Thomas, who cancelled his loan at Sheffield United by mutual consent last week.
Meanwhile, Ivan Toney, who has been serving an eight-month ban from football for breaching betting rules, scored a penalty as a Brentford XI lost 3-1 to Brondby in a behind-closed-doors game on Saturday.
Charlie Goode, Kristoffer Ajer, Ben Mee and Josh Dasilva also figured in the defeat at at the GTech Community Stadium.
Toney is expected to return against Nottingham Forest next following the end of his eight-month suspension by the FA for illegal gambling breaches on January 14.
