Northern Ireland star Conor Bradley has been named Liverpool's player of the month for January
Conor Bradley has described having his name sung by the Anfield crowd was the “most special moment of (his) life” after being named Liverpool’s Player of the Month for January.
The Co Tyrone defender was outstanding throughout the month, stepping into the first team after an injury to right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold and excelling, providing five assists in six games for the Reds.
But the standout moment came in their 4-1 win over Chelsea on January 31, Bradley surging down the right wing and into the box where he arrowed a wonderful strike low into the bottom corner for his first senior goal which, on Tuesday, was named Liverpool’s Goal of the Month.
Still just 20-years-old, Bradley is the first Northern Irishman to ever be named Liverpool’s Player of Month and joins an esteemed list of previous winners this season that includes Mohamed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo.
And the 13-times capped Northern Ireland international, a boyhood Liverpool fan, admits he still can’t believe that the Anfield crowd have been chanting his name in reflection of his stellar performances.
"It’s a privilege. Obviously it’s been a good month for me, it’s been a good couple of games and I’m just very happy to win it. As I say, it’s a privilege,” said Bradley, speaking to Liverpool’s official website.
“It means a bit more (being voted for by the fans). Obviously from the Chelsea game, hearing my name get sung out was probably the most special moment of my life, to be honest, because I have supported the club all my life.
“I just felt like I was in a dream the whole game. It was pretty mental and it just felt like nothing could go wrong
