Damien Perrinelle, who has been coaching AS Monaco’s Groupe Élite side since the beginning of the 2022/23 season, has joined the first-team set-up at the club amidst a downturn in form.
As reported by L’Équipe and confirmed by Get French Football News, Perrinelle has been drafted into Adi Hütter’s backroom staff. A move instigated by the Austrian manager, he arrives to reinforce the existing set-up and held Les Monégasques rediscover the form that they had been showing at the beginning of the season. Monaco have won just one of their five matches in Ligue 1 in 2024.
In the absence of Perrinelle, the Groupe Élite, Monaco’s academy side, will be managed by Sébastien Muet and Sebastien Gimenez. Perrinelle, a former player who has previously played for Boulogne and Clermont, had been managing the first team at the Principality club before becoming the first team coach of the club’s academy side.
