Jamie Redknapp has told Mikel Arteta the Manchester City trait his Arsenal side possess in the Premier League title race. The Gunners look set for an intense battle against the reigning champions and Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool to see who will take home domestic silverware in May.
A major blip during December and January saw Arsenal lose significant ground on both of their rivals, however since the 5-0 win over Crystal Palace, the Gunners have been superb form. In their last seven league games, Arsenal have not dropped one point and also scored 31 goals in the process to firmly cement themselves back in the title race.
Flurries of goals arriving has also seen Arsenal leapfrog both Liverpool and Man City on goal difference. «I was one of those people that was talking about how Arsenal needed a striker, how they needed to bring someone in potentially for a lot of money because of who they were competing against,» he admitted on Sky Sports. «Manchester City pre-Erling Haaland had scored 99 goals without a centre forward but they had players like De Bruyne, Sterling and Mahrez who were all scoring bunches of goals.
»That proved you can do it without a recognised No.9 and what they’ve been doing, especially of late, is fantastic because goals are coming from everyone. Everyone is chipping in with the goals, defenders like Gabriel, Declan Rice in with a few as well and that’s meant they’ve been able to hold on."
