Mark Lawrenson believes Harvey Elliott has taken is performance levels "up a notch" this campaign, naming the England youth international as Dominik Szoboszlai's long-term partner in Liverpool's midfield.
Elliott has slowly worked his way into Jurgen Klopp's plans since returning to Anfield after a loan spell at Blackburn Rovers in 2021.
His best run in the first team came during the 2022/23 campaign, when he started 25 matches in all competitions. Overall he made 46 appearances, scoring five goals and assisting twice.
The 20-year-old may not have been selected to start in the Premier League so far this season, however he has already got off the mark with a goal from the bench against Wolves. He has also started all three competitive matches outside of the league in 2023/24.

And Reds legend Lawrenson has been watching the No.19's progress, predicting a bright future ahead along with current high-flyer Szoboszlai, who has also settled in quickly since his £60m summer arrival.
"It's Harvey Elliot who looks like he's gone up a notch when he's been coming on this year," he told Paddy Power. "He seems to be involved in everything which is good and that's why I'm saying that this might be Klopp's new team.
"The thing about all of it is that Dominik Szoboszlai has been unbelievable since he's come in, he has honestly looked a top, top player. He's made such a difference to them.
"Every time Elliot's come in he's done really, really well and I think eventually he'll be in that team on a regular basis. It's all part of your grounding isn't it?
