Mikel Arteta only has a few more days on the training pitches with his players before Arsenal lock horns with Crystal Palace. The Gunners, who have been enjoy a warm weather training camp in Dubai, will welcome the Eagles to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon as either side hopes to climb the Premier League table.
Arsenal head into the clash off the back of three successive defeats; the Gunners lost to West Ham and Fulham before Liverpool dumped them out of the FA Cup Third Round. With the Champions League being the only other piece of silverware up for grabs this season, Arteta will be determined to climb the English top-flight.
The north Londoners, who currently sit fourth after 20 games, are five points adrift of league leaders Liverpool. Manchester City and Aston Villa also stand in Arsenal's road to domestic glory – not to mention Tottenham Hotspur, who will be keen to reclaim top-spot.
With a difficult end to the campaign on the horizon, Arteta appears to have put his players through their paces in Dubai. So, with that being said, football.london have noted down what we have noticed during Arsenal's training camp.
Mauro Bandeira, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Reuell Walters have all been heavily involved in training. Arteta has been subject to plenty of criticism recently for his supposed unwillingness to integrate Hale End into his first-team, yet the youngsters remain a key part of his squad.
The next step for the Arsenal boss is to start handing the likes of Bandeira, Lewis-Skelly and Walters some Premier League appearances. During Arteta's time in north London, he's only given two teenagers their English top-flight debuts – Marquinhos, who the Gunners signed from Sao Paulo, and Ethan Nwaneri from the academy.
