England football stars, including Declan Rice and James Maddison, partied until 4am after their draw with Belgium at Wembley. The bash was thrown by James Corden to celebrate Rice's 50th cap for England.
They were at the Chiltern Firehouse in London, where they were joined by pop star Harry Styles and other players like Jude Bellingham and Jordan Henderson. A source said they had a 'relaxed and boozy' night. They didn't leave the club until after 4am, six hours after the final whistle at Wembley. This game saw England secure a dramatic draw in their last match of the international break, following a loss to Brazil in the previous friendly.
England played a strong game but found themselves trailing at half-time, with Ivan Toney's penalty coming between two goals from Belgium's Youri Tielemans. However, they didn't give up and Jude Bellingham managed to score an equaliser right at the end of the match.
The result saved England manager Gareth Southgate from being the first England boss to suffer back-to-back home losses since Roy Hodgson in 2013. Now, he can fully concentrate on picking his team for the Euros this summer, with the final list of 23 players due by June 7.
After the match against Belgium, Southgate was full of praise for young Kobbie Mainoo who had a great first full game for England in midfield. «He has had a fabulous week with us,» said Southgate. «Everything that we've seen with his club, he reproduced in an England shirt which isn't always the case. Very calm, receives the ball so well under pressure, strong, so we are a little bit more open playing that way but the benefits with the ball were clear to see.»
