Enzo Fernandez is happy at Chelsea despite recent reports of dressing room unrest and a surprise transfer exit, his agent has explained. The 23-year-old has been a mainstay under Mauricio Pochettino this season but is one of many to have struggled in recent weeks as form has deserted the side.
Having won the World Cup with Argentina just over 12 months ago, Fernandez is one of the most established names in a young and inexperienced side. Alongside Moises Caicedo, he has been central to Pochettino's plans in the midfield at Stamford Bridge this term but has been singled out in recent matches for his lack of effect.
Many have pointed to the peculiar use of Caicedo and Fernandez by their manager, especially against Liverpool at Anfield last week. The pair, despite their impressive chemistry at times this season, have slowly been moving further and further away on the field, resulting in a disjointed build-up.
Last week, both he and Caicedo deactivated their social media accounts. It comes with them both getting swathes of abuse online. As the second most expensive player in Premier League history,criticism has been forthcoming for Fernandez in particular, as he continues to lack end product for the Blues.
