Everton have been waiting anxiously for the outcome of their current ten-point Premier League deduction.
Back in March 2023, the Merseyside club were referred to an independent commission by the top flight over an alleged breach of Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules. At the time, the Toffees released a statement which acknowledged the decision and 'strongly contested' the allegations.
Fast forward to November 2023 and Everton were hit with an unprecedented points deduction which plunged the club into a Premier League relegation battle. They chose to appeal this decision with their case being heard last week.
With this in mind, football.london has rounded up everything you need to know about the points deduction as their Premier League rivals await the verdict.
As reported by the Liverpool Echo's Joe Thomas on Wednesday morning, Everton's appeal to the points deduction was heard last week. This process has now been concluded and we await to hear the Premier League's final decision.
The Premier League could take one of three courses of action. They could either; wipe the deduction completely and reinstate the ten points, reduce the deduction and reinstate some of the points, or keep the deduction in full leaving Everton in the same position as they currently find themselves.

It is expected the Premier League will release their findings at the end of February. At this point, Sean Dyche's side will discover if the points deduction remains in place.
If the appeal is successful in full, Everton will have their ten points immediately reinstated. Currently, this would move Dyche's team out of the relegation zone, onto 29 points and into 12th.
