Mamadou Sakho and Montpellier HSC have parted ways following an incident at the club's training ground last week, for which the former Liverpool defender "declines all responsibility."
L'Equipe originally reported that the 33-year-old had taken offence after manager Michel Der Zakarian did not award him a foul in training. Later, when commented on by his coach, Sakho allegedly grabbed him and knocked him to the ground.
It is the latest off-the-pitch affair in the former French international's career, following on from his notable exit from Anfield in 2017 - the motion of which began in 2016.
Towards the end of the season in which Jurgen Klopp took charge, Sakho was hit with a ban for doping - this was later rescinded and apologised for by the World Anti-Doping Agency. Then during the following pre-season, he was sent home from Liverpool's tour the USA for disciplinary reasons unknown to this date.

Now on this latest matter, both parties released statements as all ties were severed after two years. The Ligue 1 club's read: "For ten days, a media frenzy has been created around the club around a 'clash' between Michel Der Zakarian and Mamadou Sakho.
"Contrary to what has been said and relayed, no precautionary dismissal has been taken against Mamadou Sakho."
Meanwhile the player himself took to Instagram with a more direct message, titled "You have to know how to leave the table when RESPECT is no longer served."
