Police are reportedly preparing for the release of Liverpool star Luis Diaz's father.
Diaz's father has been held for over a week by a guerrilla group, the national Liberation Army (ELN), in his homeland.
His mother Cilenis Marulanda was freed on the same night his parents were snatched off the streets though his father Luis Manuel Diaz has yet to be released.
However, Colombian publication Semana have now reported that police are preparing for his release.
It's said that the operation to withdraw the troops of the security forces from the border area with Venezuela has begun, in order to facilitate his release.
The ELN are alleged to have claimed that security problems in La Guajira is the reason for the delay of his release.
Semana report that more than 300 men will be moved to strategic points with the purpose of speeding up his release.
Special forces have been on the lookout for Diaz's father since the kidnapping on October 28.
