Grant McCann is manager of Doncaster Rovers
To those who believe that once footballers retire, they lose all of their talents, Grant McCann is here to show you that class is permanent.
Now the manager of League Two side Doncaster Rovers, the former Northern Ireland winger doesn’t get much of a chance to show off his silky skills that saw him win 39 caps for his country.
But in training ahead of their match with Walsall this week, the 43-year-old rolled back the years with a stunning left-footed volley that is a reminder of how he scored four goals in a green shirt – and fortunately it was caught on camera!

McCann took over at Doncaster in May 2023 for his second stint with the club but they are currently battling to ensure they don’t fall out of the Football League altogether, sitting down in 20th place in the fourth tier.
The 43-year-old, from Belfast, has had two previous stints with Peterborough United as a manager, as well as a spell with Hull City along with his first tenure at Doncaster.
