One of the UK’s biggest Pride celebrations is returning this weekend.
Manchester Pride, which sees hundreds of Liverpool’s LGBTQ+ community flock to the neighbouring city, is set to take over the area this August Bank Holiday weekend.
Running from Friday, August 25 to Monday, August 28, the festival is made up of the Gay Village Party on Canal Street, Youth and Family Pride events, a human rights rally, a candlelit vigil and an annual parade.

Here’s everything you need to know about the four-day celebrations:
The festival will open with the Human Rights Forum - a thought-provoking protest - on Friday night before The Gay Village Party kicks off with Trans Filth and Joy hosted by RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’s BIMINI, as reported by Manchester Evening News.
The festival will conclude with the candlelight vigil at Sackville Gardens with George House Trust on Monday evening to honour those who have been lost and to stand in solidarity with those who are living with HIV.
Taking place across three different stages is the Gay Village Party - which will see a host of diverse music and performances at Sackville Gardens.
Headline performances across the weekend will come courtesy of Brazilian drag sensation Pabblo Vittar, Scissor Sisters’ frontman Jake Shears and Halewood’s own, Danny Beard.
Rounding off the list is Eurovision legend Conchita Wurst, Gok Wan, Natasha Bedingfield, Lisa Scott-Lee and Jodie Harsh amongst others.
Outside of the ticketed Gay Village Party, there will also be free events including the annual parade through the city centre, Superbia, Youth Pride MCR, Family Pride MCR and the Human Rights Forum.
