Hakim Ziyech takes aim at Chelsea transfers, failed PSG move and 'coaching changes'
Former Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech has slammed the transfer policy at Stamford Bridge followingTodd Boehly's takeover. The Blues have spent over £1billion on new signings since the American billionaire took over in May 2022.
The spending has brought little to none success to west London. Chelsea finished an abysmal 12th-placed finish in the Premier League last season, seeing Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter relieved of their duties.
A further £400million was spent in the summer — the most spent by any Premier League club in a transfer window — to bolster Mauricio Pochettino's side. Their struggles have continued with Chelsea currently sitting in tenth place.
Ziyech was one of many players to leave the club in the summer having fallen down the Blues' pecking order. The Moroccan joined the club in 2020, making 107 appearances altogether.
After seeing a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain collapsed in January, he secured a move to Galatasaray on a season-long loan this summer with an obligation to make it permanent. Ziyech has enjoyed his start to life in Turkey, scoring three goals and assisting two in ten games.
However, despite still being contracted to Chelsea, the 30-year-old has opened up about the problems at Stamford Bridge. «We had three teams there with top players,» he told Voetbal International.
