Manchester United youngster Hannibal Mejbri caused a stir with Manchester United and Liverpool fans alike during the international break after he celebrated a late goal for Tunisia during their 2-1 win against Mohamed Salah's Egypt.
Aissa Laidouni and Hamza Rafia were on the scoresheet either side of Egypt player Hamdi Faith turning one into his own net as Egypt were beaten on home soil.
The controversy would arise from Mejbri and his team-mates’ decision to replicate Salah’s famous celebration after a late goal - an act that was interpreted by some as intentionally mocking the Egyptian international.
Salah was pictured smiling during their celebrations but some Manchester United fans were overjoyed to see their young player seemingly poking fun at their rival star.

However, Mejbri would put such suggestions to bed by responding to a comment on social media that stated the Tunisian team were: “Mo Salah’s biggest fans”.
He replied, “inspiration for us all”, clearly indicating that the intentions behind the celebration were not of malice but of respect for the Liverpool man.
Furthermore, Mejbri's team-mate Mohamed Elias Achouri shed more light on the celebration adding that the United youngster was not the first player to enter Salah's trademark pose.
"You have to know that it wasn’t Hannibal who started it. It was Hamza Rafia who scored the goal," he told Tipsbladet.
"He did that cheering scene, but because Hannibal did the same thing, people think he did it because he plays for Manchester United and has something going on with Salah for that reason.
